New Friend, New Teacher

When I was a kid, my family (affectionately?) nicknamed me "motor-mouth" because I would chat it up with anyone and everyone for hours. Fortunately/Unfortunately (depending on who you talk to), my talented talking skills (as I like to think of them) never diminished as I got older. Thus, I never really had a problem making friends in life. In fact, so much so that my husband has forbade me from making any new friends because he claims our social calendar is too busy and we need to start making cuts. (He is joking of course... or at least I am pretending he is).

So, needless to say, one of my favorite parts of being a photographer is the opportunity to meet new and diverse people. One of the lovelies I met on this journey is Tristan (i.e., Miss B.), the creator & owner of Besotted Brand. I found her gorgeous blog (and shoppe!) via Pinterest as I have a slight (and by "slight" I mean full-blown) addiction to hand stamps.  Besotted Brand was the professor/host of Souvenir Foto School (many of you may remember my photo a day challenge in the month of February) where I met (and was inspired by) amazing new friends and classmates. One of which was Miss B. herself.  Her photography is nothing short of amazing and her creativity still blows me away.  So, when Tristan offered to show me some tips on product photography, I jumped at the chance!

Over the last couple of weeks, I have learned how to make a few tweaks in lighting, composition, and even a few Photoshop tricks (Tristan is a PS master!) to take my photos from so-so to awesome! Below is one of my recent shots of Besotted Brand's new products (coming to the shoppe in June!). And I think (hope) I am getting the hang of this!  Thoughts?
